    :. EMan .:

Through the years DJ E-Man has played at NYC bars and clubs such as Coney Island High, Centro-Fly, Chameleon Lounge, Cheetah, Nowbar, 205 Club, Baktun, 13, Idlewild, Sapphire, Frank's Lounge, Opaline, and the Warehouse, and in clubs as far away as Sweden, Moscow, and the Czech Republic. In 1997 E-Man co-founded his most popular weekly event to date, Bang The Party, with Lorie Caval. The intimate, underground house music party where E-Man held DJ residency quickly gained local and international acclaim. Articles about Bang The Party and E-Man have appeared in publications such as DJ Times, Face (UK), ID (UK), New York Magazine, Jockey Slut (UK), Flyer NYC, PAPER, NYPress, Village Voice, New York Observer, Next, New York Newsday, Mixer and Time Out New York.

During a trip to Chicago in 1999, E-Man met talented producer Daryn "DJ Quad" Brandon and employed his help to produce his first record "Day By Day." The song featured the vocals of E-Man's long-time friend Sweet Sable (best known for her club anthem "Love So Special") and was released on HipBone Records in early 2000. HipBone quickly made a follow-up record called "The What" featuring E-Man singing in a jazzy scat style. Returning to Chicago in 2000, E-Man collaborated with DJ Quad once again to produce a cover of Steely Dan's "Caves of Altamira," on which E-Man provided all of the vocals. Promo copies were quickly charted by the likes of Tony Humphries and David Mancuso (the single was then signed to Nervous, remixed by Michael Moog, and eventually released in 2002). In 2001, Chez Music owner Neil Aline, approached E-Man with the idea of a collaboration with producer Jon Cutler. In an almost miraculous 20 minutes, E-Man penned the prolific lyrics to "It's Yours," and almost overnight, the single raced up international top ten charts and became a bonafide modern classic.

Soon after, producer Kerri Chandler asked E-Man to visit his studio and in a similar impromptu fashion, "Where I Live"--the "Brooklyn" song, born out of E-Man's improvisation on the mic at Bang The Party--was created. ("Where I Live" was released in 2002 on Chandler's Sphere Records.) Other works include "I Am The Road," with Markus Enochsen and Lorie Caval, on Little Louie Vegašs Masters At Work label, "Respect The Music" with Romain on MetroTrax, and "Musical Prayer" with Enochsen on Francois Kšs label, Wave Music (all released in 2002). Since then, E-Man has been collaborating with many other well-respected producer friends and plans to have various new projects out in the near future.

The hook line in E-Man's "Respect the Music" single states "Music is the driving force of the universe." Which certainly holds true--at least in E-Man's universe.
